About Charles
Hello, I am Charles, I'm 31 and from the UK. I have quite a bit of experience in ESL, with experiences in the last five years in Vietnam, Taiwan, Poland, the UK and currently in the Czech Republic. I would say I have a strong passion for teaching and have really gotten to love the lifestyle that comes with teaching abroad as well as getting to know so many amazing colleagues and students over the last few years. Though teaching abroad demands a lot of my time in planning, organising and assessing students I enjoy the feeling I get when I have a truly great lesson with my students. I also enjoy the feeling of progress I get from my students as their language improves over time.
Currently I am looking for online work - I am back home in the UK for now due to the ongoing coronavirus crisis and am looking to keep myself busy during this stressful time for everyone. I have some experience of online teaching as I arranged online lessons with my students in Prague from the beginning of March onwards. During this time I gained experience in using MS Teams, Zoom and Skype for my lessons as well as gain a lot of knowledge and techniques for online lessons - a different challenge to teaching face to face but with its own rewards as well. My interests and hobbies include travelling, history, reading, films, art, cooking, football, video games and spending time with my friends and family.

I have experience of teaching students from level A2 to C2 - so I tailor my lesson individually to suit what the student needs - whether they want to focus on grammar, vocabulary, Business or General English. I prefer my lessons to be conversational and giving the student the chance to speak about different topics as naturally as possible. Often I will use videos and articles that cover the theme of the lesson and often base the discussion around the material.
