About Katherine
I'm a native English speaker from the US and I have now lived in the UK for over 9 years, so I am familiar with American and British English. I am an intermediate-level Spanish speaker and I have a beginner level of German. My hobbies include playing the piano, listening to music, watching TV, and climbing. I love teaching -- it's an incredible experience to hear my students speak English more confidently and fluently as their lessons continue and to help them achieve their goals.

I deliver engaging, speaking-focused lessons that empower students to speak English with confidence. I'm passionate about focusing on students' individual learning needs and goals. Your learning goals will be a focus throughout our future lessons and I'll keep track of your progress with these goals as the lessons continue.
Lessons typically last 60 minutes.
My qualifications and experience are shown below:
Certification: CELTA
CELTA Result: Pass A
Teaching Experience: Learners aged 16+ at the A2, B1, and B2 levels in both General English and Business English. I have taught group classes in person and one-to-one in person and online.
Education: Bachelor's degree in English (focus on literature) from the University of St Andrews
Teacher training/development: Integrating Learning and Assessment via Cambridge One and Level 1 Safeguarding via British Council
I welcome students from all over the world who are looking to study General English at any level. I am also eager to support students who are looking for help preparing for an exam or study English for business or academic purposes. Additionally, if you would like to focus on developing an American accent, I can support you with this goal. As someone with over 5 years' prior experience working as a paralegal at a law firm, I can also support those looking to study Legal English.
