About Sumayyah
Hi there!
My name is Sumayyah and I have just finished my A Levels. I studied at one of the top Grammar schools in Birmingham and came out with all A's and A*'s at GCSE. After which, I went on to study Biology, Chemistry, Maths and R.S. at AS Level, and the Biology, Chemistry and R.S. at A Level.
I am now taking a gap year before starting university in the Autumn term of 2021. My A Level grades were an (A) in Biology, (A) in R.S. and (B) in Chemistry.
As I did not sit the actual A Level Chemistry exam (due to Covid-19), I will be doing that exam and aiming for an A* this year. Other than that, I have a relatively free year and I would love to be able to help other students with their academics.
I am offering tuition services in GCSE Biology, Chemistry, Maths and in A Level Biology and Chemistry.
In terms of tutoring experience, I have had experience in tutoring students for the 11+ for two years, and recently begun some GCSE tutoring. I've also mentored students in their applications for Medicine and Dentistry over the last year.
In terms of experience other than tutoring, I have worked with young people in a variety of different settings. I have been a Scout Leader since 2016, volunteered in a primary school for students with SEN for a year and volunteered with the charity 'Envolve Wellness'. The organisation is all about engaging people of all ages in sports; supporting in their social, psychological and physical needs.
My hours are fairly flexible and I am open to enquiries and questions.

Having just been through the GCSE and A Level system, I have a good understanding and insight into the exam board specs for AQA in Biology and Chemistry, and in Edexcel for Maths. My revision style involved analysing each bullet point on the specification and learning the related content and doing related exam questions.
My teaching style would be similar. It would mould to fit the student the best and I would ensure that they knew the specification as well as possible. I'll aid students in ensuring they can work out where exam questions originate from in relation to the spec as this will then make answering questions significantly easier.
