About Kathryn
I have pursued my passion for science throughout my education developing a more specific enthusiasm for environmental and agricultural science during my PhD studies.Throughout my undergraduate and PhD I have help an active scientific communication role with a wide range of audiences.
More specifically I have volunteered in:
- School science fairs,
- Lessons within schools as a STEM ambassador,
- ScienceGrrl events promoting girls and underprivileged young adults to pursue a career in science,
- Undergraduate taught practical classes,
- Mentoring international interns within the lab group,
- My local youth club working through social problems with underprivileged young adults
- An internship researching evidence-based policy at Sense about Science EU.

The strong communication and interpersonal skills gained from the above roles coupled with my excitement and expertise relating to the sciences lend to a relaxed teaching style in which complex issues within the sciences are discussed and a joint conclusion is reached. I strive to achieve a relaxed learning environment where students feel comfortable to ask questions which are then welcomed and addressed.
