Good morning, I hope you have a restful night.
Today we are going to look at how to solve some mathematical equations.
Just I told you in the last lessons the we have basically four mathematical operations which are Addition, Subtraction, Division and Multiplication.
In today's lesson we are going to be working with this operation, and please don't for that we ever we see this sign = appear in between two or more mathematical operations, it simply means we have Mathematical Equation, for example 4+Y=10
4 is a value while + is one of the mathematical operations, Y is an unknown value which when add to 4 it will give us 10.
Now let us solve this problem together.
4+Y=10 find the value of Y.
To find the value of Y, we need to transfer the position of 4 to the other side of the equation, and as I taught you in the last lesson, I say any moment you are changing position of and of the mathematical operation across the equation sign that mathematical operation will
change to its opposite. EG + will change to - while × will change to ÷ or vice versal.
Now let go back to the equation
4+Y=10
When we change position of 4 across = sign we will have
Y = 10-4
Now we can subtract 4 from 10 and we are left with
Y=6
This is our final answer, it simply means the value of Y(the unknown) is 6.
