About Madelynn
I have a lot of experience as a tutor, mentor, and ESL teacher. I volunteered in my local library system in Portland, Oregon teaching free ESL classes to a myriad of adults from different cultural backgrounds. I spent time overseas in Spain teaching English and many other classes in their bilingual program. I graduated from Western Washington University in June 2018. I majored in Environmental Policy and Spanish but have always had a passion for children and helping others succeed. I am a reliable, patient, and positive person who has approximately six years of working with children ages 3-18 in a formal education setting, an outdoor education setting, in the pool for swim lessons, at summer camp, after-school programming, and as a nanny. I am eager, full of energy, and have a passion for teaching, mentoring, and being a part of an individual's success.

My teaching method is fun, engaging, results-based, and focuses on a student's individual goals. I approach my classes with positivity and ensure students are receiving ample practice speaking, listening, reading, writing, and implementing these skills into practice. I love to have an open dialogue with my students about what they need, how they learn, and how I can improve as an educator.
