I'm Anahi, and there’s a lot I could share about myself, but one of the most important things is that at one point, I was just like you, struggling with my schoolwork. People thought I wasn’t trying or that I didn’t care about school, but the truth was, I just didn’t understand the material. Then, I got a tutor who helped me grasp the concepts, and that made all the difference.

As a tutor, my approach focuses on visual learning and real-world applications to make math both accessible and engaging for elementary school students. I believe that children grasp mathematical concepts more easily when they can see them, so I use visual tools like diagrams, charts, and interactive resources to illustrate key ideas. For example, when teaching fractions, I use pie charts or fraction bars to visually demonstrate how parts make up a whole. This method helps students understand complex ideas in a simple, intuitive way.
In addition to visual learning, I incorporate real-world applications into my lessons. I find that students connect better with math when they can see how it’s used in everyday life. For instance, I might teach addition or subtraction through a shopping scenario, where students calculate costs or figure out the total number of items. This makes math feel less abstract and more relevant to their world.
A typical lesson starts with a warm-up activity to engage students, followed by an introduction of the new concept with visual aids. I then move to real-world examples to show how the concept applies in daily life. Afterward, students participate in guided practice, where I walk them through problems step by step. Finally, they work on independent practice, and I provide support as needed.

My lessons are designed for elementary school students, typically in grades 1-5, who are learning foundational skills like addition, subtraction, multiplication, and fractions.
