About Aven
My interest in Excel began when I realized how much clarity and efficiency strong spreadsheet skills can bring to academic work and professional environments. I earned a B.Sc in Business Data Systems and later completed an M.Sc in Applied Information Management, which strengthened my understanding of both technical and organizational aspects of data work. Over 6 years of teaching, I have helped learners build Excel confidence through structured and supportive guidance.
I believe Excel is best learned through practical tasks rather than isolated memorization. My teaching style focuses on step-by-step clarity, patience, and real-world examples that show students why each tool matters. I encourage learners to experiment freely, ask questions, and gain confidence through consistent practice.
Outside tutoring, I continue exploring productivity tools, reporting methods, and new spreadsheet innovations. Teaching Excel is rewarding because students often progress quickly and see immediate results. Supporting learners as they master such a valuable skill is deeply fulfilling.

Excel becomes an incredibly valuable skill when learners understand it as more than a spreadsheet tool, but as a way to organize information, solve problems, and communicate insights clearly. In my lessons, I guide students through formulas, functions, chart building, pivot tables, dashboards, and data cleaning with practical examples. I focus on making Excel approachable, so learners feel confident applying skills in school, business, and real professional settings.
Lessons are adapted to each learner’s stage. Beginners learn formatting, simple calculations, and core functions like SUM, IF, and COUNT. Intermediate students strengthen skills with lookup functions, conditional formatting, structured tables, and error prevention. Advanced learners explore pivot reporting, automation basics, professional dashboards, and workflow efficiency techniques. Every session includes hands-on exercises, guided feedback, and real-life practice tasks so learning becomes lasting.
