About Arlen
My interest in Excel began through working with structured data and realising how spreadsheets can simplify complex information. I earned a BBA in Information Management, which strengthened my understanding of digital organisation, reporting, and practical analytics. With 8 years of teaching experience, I have helped learners develop Excel skills that support both academic success and workplace confidence.
I believe Excel should be taught through understanding, not memorisation. My approach emphasises clear explanation, repeated practice, and real application so students learn how tools connect logically. I enjoy working with learners who feel unsure at first, guiding them towards independence through patient support. Each lesson is personalised, ensuring steady progress without pressure.
Outside of tutoring, I stay updated through productivity methods, data organisation strategies, and modern spreadsheet developments. Teaching Excel is meaningful because students quickly see results in their daily lives. Helping learners gain confidence in handling data and structure is one of the most rewarding parts of my work.

Excel becomes truly powerful when learners understand how it supports clear thinking, better organisation, and smarter decision-making. In my lessons, I teach Excel as a practical tool for handling real tasks such as tracking projects, managing budgets, analysing datasets, and presenting information professionally. I focus on building comfort with spreadsheet structure, formula logic, and data accuracy so students feel confident using Excel independently. Sessions are friendly, step-by-step, and designed to remove confusion while strengthening real-world competence.
Lessons are always adapted to the learner’s current skill level. Beginners start with worksheet navigation, clean formatting, simple formulas, and basic charts. Intermediate learners explore tools like logical functions, lookup methods, sorting systems, and error-checking techniques. Advanced students develop stronger skills in pivot reporting, dashboard design, business-style summaries, and efficient workflow shortcuts. Every class includes guided exercises that help students practise actively and build long-term confidence.
Excel skills often create immediate improvement in academic work and professional productivity. Students feel more organised, capable, and prepared for data-focused tasks. My goal is to help learners use Excel with clarity, efficiency, and confidence in any environment where information matters.
