About Yolanda
I discovered my passion for Excel during undergraduate studies in Information Technology, fascinated by how spreadsheets can simplify complex data analysis and workflow automation. Pursuing an M.Sc in Data Analytics deepened my expertise in advanced Excel applications, data visualisation, and automation. Over 9 years, I have taught learners across academic and professional levels, guiding them to excel in data handling, reporting, and analytical thinking.
I adopt a hands-on, applied teaching approach, combining step-by-step explanations, interactive exercises, and real-world examples. Students are encouraged to explore, experiment, and problem-solve independently while receiving structured guidance and feedback to reinforce learning.
Outside teaching, I continue exploring new Excel features, automation tools, and data analysis techniques to keep lessons current and relevant. Integrating modern, practical examples inspires students to apply skills beyond the classroom. Witnessing learners progress from basic functions to creating complex, efficient, and insightful spreadsheets is the most rewarding part of my career.

My Excel lessons focus on transforming learners into confident and efficient spreadsheet users. I cover essential and advanced topics, including formulae, functions, pivot tables, charts, data validation, conditional formatting, macros, and dashboard creation. Lessons are interactive, hands-on, and applied, with exercises that simulate real-world scenarios. Students not only learn tool mechanics but also develop analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and practical skills applicable in academic and professional contexts.
Beginners start with basic interface navigation, data entry, simple formulae, and chart creation, ensuring clarity and confidence. Intermediate learners explore complex formulae, nested functions, pivot tables, data analysis tools, and visualisation techniques. Advanced learners focus on macros, VBA programming, dynamic dashboards, and workflow automation. Every lesson emphasises practice, structured guidance, and conceptual reinforcement, ensuring learners develop proficiency, efficiency, and independence in using Excel.
Excel education is about more than just software—it nurtures analytical reasoning, attention to detail, and effective information presentation. Students gain confidence managing data, solving complex problems, and generating insights for various applications.
