About James
I am an enthusiastic Saxophone tutor with 11 years of professional experience and a record of teaching around 150 students successfully. I work with students of all ages and levels, guiding them step by step in their musical development.
My teaching method emphasises strong basics such as posture, breathing techniques, tone quality, and fingering accuracy. I combine practical exercises with music theory to ensure students understand rhythm, melody, and harmony clearly. I also encourage listening practice to improve musical awareness.
I adapt lessons according to the student’s goals, whether they want to perform, learn for fun, or prepare for exams. I introduce various musical styles including jazz, blues, classical, and contemporary music to broaden their exposure.
My unique ability is helping students stay motivated and disciplined in their practice. I focus on building confidence and expressive playing skills, ensuring students feel proud of their progress.

I follow a disciplined and student-focused methodology while teaching Saxophone, based on Communication, Accountability, and Integrity. I begin with breath exercises and long tones to build a strong sound foundation. Gradually, I introduce scales, rhythm exercises, articulation patterns, and performance pieces.
I ensure that every student understands the purpose behind each exercise. Open communication allows students to learn without hesitation. I assign structured weekly practice and monitor improvement closely. Accountability helps build responsibility and steady growth.
With integrity, I provide sincere feedback and professional guidance. In addition to Saxophone, I teach Music Theory, Sight Reading, Jazz improvisation basics, and Ensemble skills to prepare students for real performance situations.
