About Matthew

My name is Matthew and I am a passionate teacher who has been playing professionally for fifteen years. I graduated from BIMM London's BMus (Hons) Popular Music Performance degree with First Class Honours in 2017. I have been teaching pupils for the last five years and am teaching beginner to intermediate drummers. I have plenty of real world experience and have done plenty of touring and recording sessions. Have played at Koko - London Roundhouse - London Electric Ballroom- London 02 Kentish Town Forum- London Barrowland Ballroom- Glasgow Rock City - Nottingham 02 Academy - Birmingham 02 Guildhall - Southampton Download Festival Reading and Leeds Festival 2000 Trees Festival Camden Rocks Festival Has recorded in the studio with: - Gil Norton - Foo Fighters, Pixes and Jimmy Eat World - Tom Dalgety - Royal Blood, Pixies - Dan Austin - You Meet Me At Six, Twin Atlantic and Maximo Park

About the lesson

In my studio I will be tailoring my lessons to each student individually and will cover the most essential tools a drummer needs covering: - Technique - Dynamics - Consistency - Groove - Fills - Improvisation - Sight reading We can also learn songs of your favourite bands and drummers. Lessons are based at my studio in North Acton, West London. I have a full PA system to play along with music.
