About Jack
I am a friendly and approachable Mathematics graduate from the University of Exeter with a strong passion for helping others succeed. I enjoy working with students of different abilities and take pride in creating a supportive, encouraging environment where they feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes as part of the learning process.
Alongside my academic studies, I have developed strong communication and organisational skills through balancing university work with a range of extracurricular activities, including playing rugby and tennis, as well as captaining two football teams. These experiences have helped me become patient, adaptable, and able to explain ideas clearly.
I am motivated to help students build confidence in their mathematical ability, improve their understanding, and achieve their academic goals.

I aim to break down complex concepts into clear, manageable steps, using worked examples and guided practice to build both understanding and confidence. I encourage students to ask questions and actively engage throughout the lesson, helping them develop independent problem-solving skills over time.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes long, providing enough time to cover content thoroughly while maintaining focus and productivity. I am a Mathematics graduate from the University of Exeter, with a strong academic background and experience supporting GCSE students in improving their understanding and exam performance.

Jack is a close family-friend who has helped tutor me over the past two years in Maths. I really struggled with trigonometry and quadratic equations and Jack explained everything very clearly. Taking his time to run through all the methods, he was very patient when I really wasn't getting it and when I finally did he was very supportive and made sure I understood everything clearly. We regularly complete past-papers and whenever I am not getting a question he gets me to complete revision exercises to solidify my knowledge before attempting the question again. I really appreciate all Jack has done for me and, fingers crossed, I pass my exam this summer! So far, I have improved tremendously (from a 3 to a 5) in my mock papers :)
