About Anna
I am an avid sewer, who has made and designed clothes since I was first given permission to use my mum's sewing machine (beginning by sitting on mum's knee, to do the 'long straight seems').
Since then, I have continued to make my own clothes, as well as completing a Diploma of Costume Design, opening an Etsy stall, and recently, making my very first wedding dress.
Though I didn't pursue a career in costume, I still have a passion for all things design, and by teaching, can share this passion with others. As a tutor, it is extremely fulfilling to watch students progress from having almost no confidence at all, to completing a garment from start to finish.

Sewing is one of those dying but extremely useful arts, and as someone who has always loved to sew, teaching allows me to share this passion and knowledge. Who doesn't like the idea of making clothes that are totally unique, and custom made to fit the maker?
Whether you've never sewn in your life, or are wanting to try something different (pattern making, something with boning!), my lessons are for all abilities, ages and levels of experience.
Lessons can focus on anything, from basic sewing, to pattern making, to undertaking more complex projects, such as formal dresses or outfits.
Generally, each lesson goes for a minimum of 1 hour, and can be negotiated from there.
I completed a Diploma of Costume Design at Melbourne Polytechnic in 2014, and opened an Etsy stall selling hand-made clothes in 2018. I have also just finished making my very first wedding dress!
I have been tutoring sewing since early 2020.

Perfect! Anna is an amazing teacher. I have been taking lessons from her the last 9 months and must say she is very patient and knowledgeable. I have learnt a lot of sewing skills and hacks from her. I will fully recommend Anna to anyone who wants to learn how to sew.
