In my lessons, I try to make sure that activities are interactive and set at the right level of challenge, so that you really feel that you have learnt something whilst still having fun. I am supportive and patient and truly believe that making mistakes gives us the chance to learn, so there is no need to feel embarrassed about making errors.
Lessons will usually work on the four keys skills - speaking, listening, reading and writing (but longer writing tasks are usually done as homework). I try to use interesting, authentic resources such as songs in lessons wherever possible, to help you to engage and enjoy.
I am fully experienced in teaching French from Y7 - Y11, so I can help you whether you are a complete beginner to the language, or a student working on your GCSE French. For adults, I can help you to improve your grasp of French for the workplace, work on your conversational skills for holidays, or simply learn French as a new challenge!
I have been a qualified MFL teacher working in a couple of secondary schools in South Birmingham for the past 8 years. In this time, I have helped many students from Y7 right through to their GCSE French with excellent results, frequently above the national average. I like to think that my patience and friendliness helps students believe that they CAN do it, whilst enjoying studying languages.
