I travel at least annually to Québec and sometimes to other francophone countries. I attend professional development offered through NYSAFLT (New York State Association For Language Teachers) to keep my skills fresh.
I'm licensed in NY to teach grades 1-12 in French and hold Bachelor's and Master's degrees from SUNY-New Paltz.

Bonjour! I am a tutor with over 30 years’ experience working with students of all ages, the youngest being 4, and the oldest being 80. I work with preschoolers; elementary, middle school, high school, college levels; and adult students.
I am a kind and patient tutor who uses several teaching styles to help you reach your learning goals: audio, visual, and hands-on. Lessons are tailored to your learning style and to help you reach your potential. I use real-life materials, depending on the lesson. For example, if we have a lesson on telling time, I pull up a real movie, show, or plane schedule to practice.
Typically we open with a warm-up, then launch into the lesson, according to your goals. I'll teach a concept, guide you towards the answer, then gradually remove supports as you are ready. The goal is for you to perform skills independently. If we need to go back and review a concept, we do it. I also know when it's time to move on to more challenging concepts.
