Each lesson is planned and broken down into small steps linked to memory, phonics, spelling, writing, over learning and comprehension. Each week parents are informed as to how their child is doing and advice given. I also work on self esteem and confidence.
Each lesson is multi-sensory and based on a bespoke programme linked to a baseline assessment. All of my students have commented on how much they have enjoyed my lessons and their self esteem and confidence transforms back into the classroom.
I have led schools from Special Measures to ‘good’ within 8 months. I enjoy working with schools and am keen to ‘keep my hand in’ and would like to continue with the one to one teaching I currently do.
I have excellent knowledge of Dyslexia, Autism, learning difficulties, Social emotional and mental health and physical difficulties. I enjoy a challenge and am familiar with the SEND Code of Practise and all of the aspects involved in a SENDCO role. I am familiar with developing SEND policy and provision mapping. I am organised and have experience of leading teaching assistants to provide effective interventions in a school. I have up to date knowledge of Education Health Care Plans and understand how important it is to engage parents in a pupil’s progress.
I am familiar with leading training in: Differentiation, First Quality Teaching, Neurodiversity, Developing the role of a learning support assistant etc. I have experience of working strategically to develop SEND within a school effectively.
I have a very nurturing nature and have made many excellent relationships with parents. Most of the parents of children I have worked with have commented on progress as well as how much their child has increased in confidence and self esteem.
