Experienced clarinet teacher offers individual lessons at my home. All standards from beginner to advanced. I am patient, encouraging and thorough.

Charles is one of the best teachers I have ever had. We met as I was moving from Primary to Secondary school to have Clarinet lessons and he taught me all the way through till leaving 6th form; where I left for RNCM (a music conservatoire.)
In teaching he gave me so much support and confidence in my playing. He has a relaxed teaching style and just wants the best for your learning, finding new music and recommendations as well as showing me how to improve technically.

I also loved the way Charles created an environment for playing music with others; quartets and duets etc. so other students and I were able to perform in groups!

Without his experience, support and guidance I wouldn't still be playing the clarinet and loving music the way I do today!

I had lessons with Charles for around 8 years until I left school, but we have continued playing together well past finishing lessons. With Charles as my teacher I progressed from never having played before to getting my grade 8. Beyond the one to one lessons, I enjoyed and improved the most through the group sessions we had, playing with other students of different abilities. As a young student this was a really great introduction to group playing which ultimately led to me gaining orchestral positions and as an older pupil it has given me a joy for playing, which I still carry to this day in ensembles beyond university.
I cannot recommend Charles enough, he is a first class teacher that goes above and beyond individual lessons to inspire his pupils with a skill and passion they can carry on for life.
