About Emily

I am a graduate of the University of Cambridge with three years teaching experience. I studied music and am now pursuing a freelance classical singing career alongside teaching. I currently attend lessons at the Royal Academy of Music, having sung in the Choir of Gonville & Caius College, Cambridge for five years. I love being able to share my passion for singing through tutoring and inspiring others to discover their voices.

About the lesson

I approach teaching in a calm, friendly and patient manner; with sessions being organised in whatever structure best suits the student. Lessons can be either half an hour or an hour based on the needs of the student. We will focus on technical exercises for the first part of the lesson, ensuring we build a solid singing technique. The remainder of the lesson will be working on music you have been working on. I endeavour to find an enjoyable balance between setting music for my students and letting them choose what they want to sing. I am very familiar with all ABRSM grades and understand the Trinity syllabus well too. I will only encourage you to take exams if you want to.

She has proven herself capable of imparting her work ethic and knowledge on to others. She is patient and kind and I believe that this makes her an excellent tutor, combing an expert subject knowledge with a positive and encouraging tutoring approach.
