About Riaan
I am an experienced computer programming tutor with 5 years of teaching college students. Over the years, I have successfully guided around 150 students in mastering programming languages such as Java, SQL, and C. My goal is to help students not only learn coding syntax but also develop strong problem-solving skills and logical thinking that they can apply in real-world projects and assignments.
My teaching philosophy is centred on making programming clear, practical, and engaging. I use real-life examples, coding exercises, and small projects to demonstrate concepts, helping students understand how to apply what they learn. I encourage open-mindedness by showing multiple ways to solve problems, which helps students develop creativity and flexibility in coding.

I specialise in teaching computer programming to students from school to university, with a focus on Java as well as related subjects like SQL, C, and basic data structures. My goal is to help students not only learn coding syntax but also develop strong problem-solving skills and logical thinking that they can apply in real projects, assignments, and exams.
My teaching methodology is based on hands-on practice and structured learning. I use real-life examples, coding exercises, and small projects to make concepts easy to understand and practical. I encourage open-mindedness by exposing students to multiple approaches for solving a problem, helping them develop creativity and flexibility in programming.
Cultural sensitivity is an important part of my approach.
