About Amy
Hello! I am a fourth year undergraduate at the University of Oxford, where I am studying Classics. In the Autumn, I will embark upon a postgraduate qualification in Philosophy. I am enthusiastic about the literature, history, languages and philosophy of the ancient world, and I share this enthusiasm with my students of all ages to help them fulfil their potential.
I have been tutoring online for over a year and have delivered almost 100 sessions on other platforms. In person, I have worked with students aged 7+ in person for over 5 years, delivering hundreds of sessions in that time. I have recently prepared students for 13+ admissions tests, GCSE , and A-level examinations with students going on to achieve excellent examinations results winning places at top secondary schools and universities.

Looking for exam help? I have a strong track-record of helping my students to reach and exceed their academic aims, all in the friendly and encouraging session allowing students to experience both success and challenge. I tailor my sessions to individual students' needs, focussing on their problem areas and supporting their work at school.
Looking to be stretched and challenged? I have worked with a number of students working towards A and A* grades and I enjoy working with those students who are moving beyond their curriculum. This is one of the best ways to build a strong application to university and I particularly encourage this kind of extension work at GCSE and A-level. With an extensive base of knowledge in both Classics and Philosophy, I am able to support and guide such explorations into the subjects. In particular, I am able to support Extended Project Qualification essays in Classics, English Literature, and Philosophy.
Looking for university preparation? At Oxford, I have been involved with the admissions procedures, advising students on their application materials, preparing them for interview, and revising for admissions tests. I know from experience that it is important to approach the admissions process as a whole, and I am able to offer support and guidance throughout this process as well as sessions on personal statements, aptitude tests (CAT, LAT or TSA) as well as interview preparation sessions.
