About Joel
I am a qualified teacher with a Bachelor of Education (Primary and Secondary). Alongside teaching in schools I have 5 years’ experience as a private music teacher. I have been playing the drums for over 15 years and I love passing my knowledge and technique onto new students!

I always start my lessons with finding out what the student already knows about music, the drums and their experience with it so far. I like to find out what music they enjoy and I tailor my lessons around learning similar styles and techniques. I like introducing drum sheet music early, because it’s fun to read and not many people know that drummers read music too!
