About Miguel
Currently Head of Music at Hulme Hall Grammar School, with previous leadership experience at Bridgewater High School and as Teacher in Charge of Music at Manchester Academy in central Manchester. I lead with clarity and purpose, supporting students and staff in building strong musical foundations and creative confidence.
Alongside instrumental teaching, I oversee the GCSE Music course, guiding students through performance, composition, and appraising with structure, support, and high expectations ensuring they develop both technical skill and deeper musical understanding.
Currently offering Guitar, Bass Guitar, Drum Kit and Piano/Keys across any genre.

My lessons are built on a simple belief: every student can make meaningful progress when they feel motivated, understood, and challenged in the right way. I take time to understand each learner’s musical interests and shape lessons around them whether that’s piano, electric guitar, bass guitar, or drum kit, across any genre.
Complex skills are broken down into clear, manageable steps to prevent cognitive overload, allowing students to secure one layer of understanding before moving to the next. Through careful modelling, guided practice, retrieval, and spaced repetition, knowledge becomes lasting and performance becomes confident.
I create a calm, purposeful environment where expectations are high, encouragement is steady, and creativity is valued. Students don’t just learn pieces they develop independence, resilience, and a deeper understanding of the music they love.
