I have gave lessons to wide range of ages, personalities & abilities. The most important thing I have learnt is that everyone learns in a different way and will respond to different techniques.
Coming from a background of relying on knowledge & musical theory, I ensure this is always paramount when starting drums, however relying on personal style and improvisation is key when progressing, and so I always ensure to incorporate this.
On a whole, I ensure my pupils are practicing because they love their instrument and not just because they have to - whether this be through games, challenges or competition between teacher and pupil!
I am currently a Mechanical Engineering student studying at QUB, with drums and music being my passion!
I am 22 years old and have been teaching lessons since school. Originally a guitarist, however when I started playing drums aged 13 I knew it was my instrument. I completed my Grade 8 & Level 3 Diploma whilst at school, but more importantly I have gained vital experience in orchestral playing, musical pit band playing for 'Les Miserables' & 'West Side Story', band gigging (also on live TV!) & also recording drums for artists.
During my 5 years of teaching, with a maximum of 25 pupils in one week, I have developed my unique style of teaching to ensure the lessons are not only professional but also fun!
