About Alan
I’ve been playing drums for 29 years, with extensive experience performing live, recording in studios and working with other musicians. I spent several years playing professionally in Ireland before moving to Canada and have continued performing, recording and teaching ever since. I’m passionate about helping drummers develop their own feel and confidence rather than simply copying exercises. I teach in a relaxed, encouraging way and adapt each lesson to the individual student, their goals and the music they want to play.

My lessons are focused on helping you become a more confident and musical drummer. We’ll work on groove, timing, technique, coordination, fills, improvisation and playing comfortably to a click. Lessons are tailored to your level and goals, whether you’re just getting started or you’ve been playing for years and feel stuck. My approach is practical and relaxed, with exercises you can actually apply to real music. The goal isn’t just to learn exercises, it’s to help you feel comfortable behind the kit and enjoy playing.
