About Amanda
I’m a passionate elementary educator with classroom experience teaching 4th and 5th grade, along with prior experience supporting students in lower elementary grades. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s in Teaching and Learning from Clemson University. Teaching is my greatest passion, and I love helping students build confidence and a strong foundation in learning. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy traveling and exploring new cultures, which inspires me to bring curiosity and real-world connections into my teaching.

I believe every child can succeed in math when lessons are clear, supportive, and tailored to how they learn best. I create a positive, low-pressure environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes.
I use simple explanations, visual examples, and step-by-step problem solving to make concepts easy to understand. I adjust my teaching style to each student’s pace and use guiding questions to help them think through problems instead of memorizing answers. Positive reinforcement is key to helping students build confidence.
Each lesson starts with a quick check-in and review, followed by a clear explanation of a new concept or focused skill practice. We work through examples together, then move toward independent practice. I end with a short recap to reinforce understanding and celebrate progress.
I’m calm, patient, and great at breaking down math in a way that feels approachable. I focus on building confidence as much as skills, helping students feel proud of what they can do.
My lessons are for elementary students (grades K–5), including those who need homework help, skill reinforcement, or extra support building confidence in math.
