About Harriet
I have been tutoring students in English for over eight years. Many of my previous students are now at college or university, and at least one is now a qualified teacher. I am a former solicitor, with an academic specialism in the human rights of teenage suspects, and extensive experience in advising young people at police stations. I also home educated my then teenage son from the age of 13. He is now reading Music at university.

All of my lessons are student-centred, tailored to the needs of the individual. I support students in all areas of the English Language and Literature curriculum in Years 7-13. My particular areas of expertise are in helping students who struggle to understand and engage with poetry and Shakespeare, and coaching those who lack confidence in writing and comprehension. I am also popular with proficient students who wish to 'polish' their skills and increase their knowledge of literature.

The £30 rate is for students up to GCSE level, including retakes. For A level students I charge £33 per hour.
