About Veronique
My name is Veronique Bothma, and I’m an English teacher from South Africa. I love the outdoors, spending time with my family, and most of all—teaching! I’m passionate about helping others learn, grow, and feel confident expressing themselves in English. The reason I chose teaching is simple: I truly enjoy seeing students succeed. Watching someone go from unsure and shy to confident and capable is the most rewarding part of my job. Teaching English allows me to connect with students from all over the world and make a real difference in their lives, one lesson at a time. As a private English tutor, my teaching approach is student-centered, interactive, and supportive. I believe in creating a relaxed and positive learning environment where students feel confident to speak and make mistakes—because that’s where real growth happens! Each lesson is tailored to the student’s needs, learning pace, and goals, whether it's improving grammar, vocabulary, speaking fluency, or reading comprehension.
My methodology combines structured learning with engaging activities such as storytelling, role-play, and visual aids to keep lessons fun and effective. What makes me unique is my ability to connect personally with each student, adapt lessons on the go, and create a warm, encouraging space for learning.
I am a Native English Speaker, and I use English as the primary language of instruction, simplifying explanations when needed to support understanding.
Students can expect well-prepared lessons that include a mix of conversation practice, listening activities, reading texts, and writing tasks. I also provide regular feedback and positive reinforcement to help build confidence and track progress.
My lessons are ideal for children and beginner to intermediate-level students who are learning English as a second language. Whether your child is just starting or needs support in speaking more fluently and naturally, I am here to help them succeed!
