About Annette
I am a professionally trained teacher of English and Spanish from my native country Jamaica. I studied Secondary Education at a Teachers College for three years and later worked in the Secondary High School for approximately five years. After having worked for several years in the public education system I sought for a change of profession and then pursued courses in Public Relations and Journalism at the University of the West Indies. I was fortunate to receive employment as a Public Relations Officer at the the media agency responsible for promoting government programs. The job involved developing public education campaigns and writing press releases for the media. After working there for four years I was offered a position as a Customer Service Coordinator at the airport.
I later migrated to Germany and have been teaching ESL ever since. I have been fortunate to have lived and worked in several countries in Europe as well as the USA and have taught ESL in these countries. I am currently living in France and working part-time in a language school. I speak fluent Spanish, German, little Italian and currently learning French.
I really enjoy my job as an ESL teacher. I teach business and conversational English students of all ages.My lessons are motivating and challenging.
I have received excellent feedback and references from my students and the language schools I have worked for. I am also a qualified TEFL/TESOL teacher.

I try to garner the students interests by using a variety of teaching methods such as role plays, discussions, debates, games and quizzes etc in my lessons.
Listening and repeating are extremely important for learning any language and I aim to instill these two skills primarily in the minds of my students.I am a very patient teacher and always encourage all students, regardless of their insecurities to participate actively in class. My philosophy for teaching is "Be like a child, if you fall down don't be afraid to get back on your feet."
