About Julia

Hi! I’m Julia — an American data scientist turned statistician and epidemiologist with over a decade of experience. I’m currently a research fellow at a Russell Group university. I have doctoral training in epidemiology and a strong background in infectious disease research, where I spent six years applying statistical methods to real-world public health challenges in the states. I love the world of epidemiology and I want to help you love it, too.

I support students across a wide range of topics, from foundational epi through to causal thinking, biostatistics, and advanced disease modelling techniques such as SEIR and agent based models. My teaching goes beyond theory — I focus on helping you understand how methods are applied in practice, particularly within epidemiology and the study of disease.

I hold an MSc in Analytics, a BSc in IT Management, and I’m working on my PhD in Epidemiology. I’m passionate about making complex ideas accessible, engaging, and even enjoyable. Whether you’re working through challenging concepts, applying methods to assignments, or refining your academic writing, I’m here to help you build confidence, develop practical skills, and unlock a deeper understanding of statistics and epidemiology.

I’m here to help you get excited about epidemiology and understand the core concepts, applications, and advanced practice, while you build both confidence and deep understanding. With doctoral training in epidemiology and over six years of experience in infectious disease research, I bring real-world insight into every session. My lessons focus on helping students grasp core concepts, apply epidemiological principles in practical settings, and develop critical thinking skills essential for studying patterns of disease.
Whether you need support with specific topics, guidance on applying methods to real data, or detailed feedback on assignments, I provide clear, structured, and supportive teaching. I also offer thorough proofreading to help refine your work and strengthen your academic writing. My goal is to help you not only succeed in your studies but also develop a lasting understanding of epidemiology in practice.
