My name is Michael Stein. I have a bachelors degree from WCUPA and over 3 years experience teaching English or Japanese as second languages. I'm also fluent and literate in Japanese and do Japanese-to-English translations professionally.

Japanese
With lower level students, I prefer a balance of intensive study (grammar exercises, etc.) and extensive exposure to texts, dialogues, stories, etc. With advanced students, I prefer to focus on free form production, though I have many techniques for generating topics or communication tasks.
I also aim to prioritize each student's personal learning styles and language goals, and I try to adjust to them. I am more than happy to pursue any of the student's own curiosities, such as professional writing or media they are interested in.
