About Irene
I am TESOL certified ESL teacher with 10 years of experience, a Master's Degree in Education and a Bachelor's Degree in Speech Science. My father was in the military and I lived in and visited many countries and most continents growing up. Moving around my whole life has allowed me to really appreciate different cultures and languages. I currently live in Nevada, USA.

After our first meeting, I will individualize your lesson plan to your specific learning style and target your goals. I love using the communicative approach with my learners. It really helps develop the ability to communicate in real-life situations. The focus will be to work on having a fluent conversation that is relevant to your situation. I would also like to simulate situational learning by using a task-based approach. This will encourage you to be an effective communicator while also targeting problem-solving and critical thinking skills that might arise when speaking a foreign language. I also specialize in accent reduction and improving an American English Accent.
