About Ashley
I am a graduate student at Teachers College, Columbia University pursuing a Master of Arts in Applied Linguistics and TESOL. I graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics and Cognitive Science, and have a minor in Psychology.
I am skilled in various technical areas, including programming languages such as Python, SQL and R, statistical software like SPSS, and natural language processing. Additionally, I hold certifications in TCSOL and SAS Base, and I am fluent in both English and Mandarin.
With a wealth of experience as a language teacher, I have honed my skills in implementing task-based language teaching methods, developing a dual-teacher system for practice and assessment, and analyzing student scores. I have also worked as an English researcher and teacher at a tech company (Shenzhen Wumii Technology Limited), where I taught live stream English class and developed an English curriculum based on CEFR and produced over 400 lesson plans.
In addition to my teaching experience, I have also gained valuable skills through work and project experience in consulting and real estate companies. These experiences have allowed me to sharpen my analytical, administrative, teamwork and communication skills.

I always create a communicative, supportive, and comfortable learning environment in my English class. Students will have opportunities to learn and practice authentic English by engaging in interactive real-life scenarios. I will design my lessons tailoring to meet students' needs and interests. In addition to integrated language skills, I also help students build confidence, enhance learning autonomy, and encourage a love of learning.
