About Adam
Before becoming an experienced ESL teacher I worked in business in Chicago for ten years. I learned professionalism here and kept/keep that in my classes. Besides creating an open environment I tend to be student centered at all times. I also learned to speak Chinese when I lived and worked in Asia. Therefore I understand the language acquisition process and can relate to non native speakers learning another language other than their own. This process taught me empathy which I consistently use in my classes. Basically you’re in ‘good hands’ when you study/learn with me.

I strive to create a relaxed teaching environment where students are encouraged to speak openly and freely. I focus on pronunciation and fluency while giving positive reinforcement as well as constructive feedback. I have been very successful with this approach while staying student centered at all times with an 80% student speaking while I only talk/instruct 20% of the time.
