Having struggled initially myself to learn maths I understand the benefit of tutoring first hand. Due, in part, to my tutor I was able to to gain A* grades in both GCSE and A level maths which enabled me to study Physics at University. I would like the opportunity to offer the same to current GCSE and A Level students.
All of my lessons follow the same structure ;
Recap of the last lesson.
Setting out the learning out come of the lesson.
Demonstrating, through the use of examples, the skill to be learned.
Walking the student through more examples.
Then setting further work if required.
For two summers I have worked at YMCA Fairthorne Manor as a Day camp Leader (Which included CRB checks and Child Protection training). I have also tutored my younger brother (GCSE Level) and have been a peer mentor offering A Level assistance.
