About Oriana Sofia
Hi, I’m Oriana Sofia, an experienced flautist and passionate music teacher dedicated to helping students of all ages discover the joy of flute playing. I hold a BMus (Hons) degree from Edinburgh Napier University and have over three years of teaching experience. My musical journey began in 2008 with "El Sistema" in Venezuela, a world-renowned program providing free classical music education. Through this transformative program, I performed with various orchestras and taught flute to young beginners, fostering their early musical growth. Since moving to Scotland, I have actively participated in several community music projects, including workshops with the Junior Tinderbox Orchestra, The Scottish Chamber Orchestra, and El Sistema Scotland. My orchestral experience includes performing with groups such as the Edinburgh University Sinfonia and the Edinburgh Napier University Orchestra. With a Distinction in ABRSM Grade 8 and an up-to-date PVG, I bring a professional yet approachable style to my lessons. Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced player, I’m committed to helping you achieve your goals in a supportive and enjoyable learning environment.
