About Kit
Music has been a part of my life for almost 23 years now; I've played violin and other instruments in orchestras, performances and musicals for as long as I remember, including the National Children's Orchestra and the York Symphony. I also took 3 years of masterclasses from the Yehudi Menuhin School of Music, taught by world-level violinist Akiko Ono, and have a GCSE and AS Level in music.
As well as having grades in violin and piano (ABRSM), I also have qualifications in guitar (Trinity Guildhall)! I'm immediately available to teach any of these within Wokingham, and look forward to seeing you!

In the past, I've taught from ages 4+, from absolute beginners to proficient players, so I'll be happy to teach no matter your level or age; in my opinion, it's never too late to start an instrument!
As for how I teach, I myself learnt with the Suzuki method, and so it might be biased but it's what I also use now. One of the main approaches with this method is to play with the student and have them copy, so they can see exactly how to do something, and can adjust themselves accordingly. It's an amazing method, renowned by many musicians out there - especially for teaching younger children - and even if you don't learn from me, I genuinely recommend it.
As for lesson plans, I teach either in half an hour, or whole hour slots. From this, you can expect a warmup (scales and arpeggios), the student to play what they've been working on that week, structured feedback on their performance, a few more attentive playthroughs of it with particular detail to the specifics, including tone, articulation and tuning, and then some new material for next week!

Please note I only offer 30 minute lessons for piano and guitar. I also only teach these 3 until Grade 4.
(The rate for this is £15.)
For violin, I offer 30 minute and 1-hour lessons up to Grade 5 standard, and 1-hour lessons only from Grade 6-8.
(The rate for violin Grade 6-8 is £28.)
