About Arwen
I’m a passionate guitar tutor with over 5 years of experience and a Bachelor of Science in Audio Engineering (Guitar Focus). My love is improvisation, particularly in jazz and blues, where every lesson becomes an opportunity for creative exploration. Students learn modal scales, arpeggios, dominant seventh theory, and bebop phrasing while building a unique voice.
My teaching style is supportive, engaging, and goal-driven, ideal for school students, hobbyists, and professionals alike. I’ve guided intermediate and advanced players and helped many prepare for live performances and recording sessions. Lessons combine technical skill, theory, and personal expression for meaningful growth.

My teaching focuses on developing strong music reading skills for guitarists. I cover standard notation, tablature, rhythm, and sight-reading exercises. Lessons are organized systematically to ensure steady progress.
I work with “The Classical Purist” and “The Jazz Explorer,” supporting them in becoming fluent readers. We start with fundamentals—notes, rhythm, and simple pieces—then expand to more challenging material. Exercises always connect to real musical playing.
Students learn to read melodies, chords, and rhythmic patterns accurately. Sight-reading is practiced regularly to increase speed and confidence. I also emphasize interpreting written music with expression and style.
The approach ensures students can read music confidently in any context. Together, we unlock the world of written music and its endless possibilities.
