Playing guitar is not just about knowing where to place your fingers and when to strum the strings. You need to understand your instrument and the music that you are playing. Why are you playing certain notes, why are chords the way that they are, I make sure that you understand what you are playing and why it is like that. This will not only help you become a better guitarist, but a better musician overall!
My lesson consists of a lot of metronome practice to famous riffs which include techniques which we learn about in a certain lesson or over the course of a couple of lessons, this will help you slowly improve and give you a target to aim towards. This combined with some theory and active teaching will help you understand and become a better player.
I have worked as a tutor for 2 years now, teaching various subjects ranging from maths to guitar lessons. I have been playing guitar for as long as I can remember and I love teaching others, from complete beginners up to a solid musician.
I have just finished a BTEC Music Perfornance course with an anticipated final grade of a Distinction* (highest grade you can achieve), which means I have a lot of experienced working as a musician and working with other people.
Furthermore I have played various gigs with a few bands and performed at school and college various times. I was also the guitarist for a performance of We Will Rock You, a musical about the band Queen.

I am a very strong-willed individual who strives for the best that I can achieve in all areas of my life, may this be my education or my guitar skills, I will always try my best to achieve the best. I am also a very friendly individual who has no problem talking and engaging in conversation with people, and has no problem in public speaking. I also love to break every target that is set to me, this especially applies in my target grades, which I plan in going beyond the targets.

John was super helpful when he taught me maths and computer science. He took it at my pace (which honestly was quite slow), but he never got frustrated and now I completely understand the stuff he taught me. Thank you so much!!!
