About Melanie
History is awesome! I love the subject - there's so much to choose from and find out.
I am a qualified History teacher and I've taught the subject in high school, as well as studying it to Master's degree level. Some topics in History are more interesting than others, but one thing is for sure - it is certainly not boring!
English is also a strong subject of mine, another of which I am passionate about. I've taught this to adults and also in schools. English is a vital part of History lessons, so that is something that can be featured.
After qualifying I worked in high school for some time, before moving to primary school and then moved to teach adults in functional skills of English and Maths.

My lessons are for primary and secondary school students who want to improve in History.
I use a variety of resources - Kahoot, YouTube, picture sources and written sources and I like them to be interactive. I can also help with your standard of English, because it's a vital part of History work.
If you just want help with the knowledge aspect of the subject, we can do that or if you want a full lesson, a revision session or just spending time picking apart sources - it's up to you!
The lessons are based around what is best for you and you'll find that 1-2-1 lessons can make a huge difference to your understanding. It doesn't matter if you get anything wrong (that's how you learn!), it's just teacher and student. You'll find it a very relaxed and welcoming atmosphere in my lessons.
