About Saika
I have been a tour guide in Tokyo for 5 years, providing tours for international guests.
Many guests showed great interest in the Japanese language, so I started teaching them some Japanese during the tours.
I enjoyed this so much that I decided to become a Japanese teacher.
Now, I teach Japanese one-on-one to students living in Japan.
I also offer online lessons.

*I lived in Australia for 2 years, so I can speak English as well.
Even if you don’t understand Japanese at all, you can feel comfortable because I conduct lessons in English.
In my private life, I am a mom of two children.
I enjoyed backpacking and have traveled to about 50 countries alone.
I can also play the traditional Japanese instrument, Tsugaru Shamisen.

Hi, my name is Saika, but you can call me 'Happy sensei' as my name has the meaning of happiness.
I am a Native Japanese speaker.
My Japanese lessons are fun and immersive, using my experience as a tour guide in Tokyo.
I know a lot about Japanese culture, history, and popular places etc., so you’ll feel like you’re traveling through Japan while you learn.
In each lesson, I incorporate various materials, such as videos and cultural references, to keep things interesting.
We focus on practical conversations, giving you many chances to practice speaking in real-life situations.
What makes my lessons special is how I combine language learning with cultural insights, making each session both educational and enjoyable.
My lessons are for everyone, from beginners to advanced learners, and are perfect for anyone who wants to experience Japanese language and culture in a unique way.
