About Yasser
Hello! My name is Yasser, and I am currently a 4th Year Medical Student at Imperial College London. I recently completed a BSc in Cancer Frontiers and will soon begin a PhD in Cancer Biology (a total of 9 years of studying !)
I am passionate about helping students develop not only their subject knowledge, but also the confidence needed to succeed. I take pride in creating a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and challenging themselves. Seeing students grow in confidence and achieve results they once thought were beyond their reach is one of the most rewarding aspects of tutoring.

My approach to tutoring is centred around ensuring that students genuinely understand the material rather than simply memorising it. I break down complex concepts into manageable steps and adapt my teaching pace to suit each individual student, ensuring that they develop a strong foundation and confidence in the subject.
I believe that confidence is just as important as knowledge. I aim to create a supportive and non-judgmental environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and learning from them. Building confidence allows students to approach challenging topics and exams with a positive mindset.
Once we have covered the content and established a solid understanding, I reinforce learning through carefully selected exam-style and past paper questions. We begin with simpler questions and progressively increase the difficulty, helping students develop problem-solving skills and gain confidence in tackling the most difficult questions.
I offer both one-to-one and group tuition, allowing students to choose the format that best suits their learning style and preferences. Lessons are typically 1–2 hours long, depending on the topic being covered and the student's confidence and progress.
I have over five years of tutoring experience and have taught more than 50 students through private tuition, schools, and tutoring companies. I have delivered both individual and group sessions to students ranging from 11+ level to A-level, although my current focus is primarily on AQA A-level Biology and Chemistry.
In addition to subject tuition, I also provide support for Medical School applications, including personal statement guidance and interview preparation.
