About Daniel
I am a fully qualified Mathematics teacher with QTS and over 25 years of teaching and tutoring experience across Romania, Canada and the United Kingdom.
My international teaching career began in Romania, where I prepared high-achieving students for the National Mathematics Olympiad, developing their advanced mathematical reasoning and problem-solving skills. In recognition of my contribution to mathematics education, I was awarded the Diploma of Excellence in Teaching Mathematics by the Romanian Ministry of Education.
I later taught and tutored in Canada, working with students of diverse abilities and backgrounds, including students with SEND. I developed personalised teaching strategies to help students overcome difficulties, build confidence and achieve their potential. I also prepared students for advanced mathematics examinations and coached graduates for the GRE and GMAT.
Since moving to the UK, I have specialised in GCSE and A-Level Mathematics, consistently delivering excellent outcomes. My GCSE students achieve, on average, more than one grade above their predicted results. At A-Level, my classes have achieved a value-added score of +1.34, significantly exceeding the UK national average of 0, demonstrating the strong progress and impact of my teaching.
I have also supported students in gaining places at leading universities, including the University of Cambridge. I am passionate about helping students develop not only their mathematical knowledge, but also the confidence, resilience and independent thinking they need to succeed.

My lessons are personalised, structured and engaging, with every session tailored to the student’s individual needs, ability, learning style and goals. I use clear explanations, worked examples, targeted questioning, guided practice and exam-style questions to develop both understanding and confidence.
I focus on building strong mathematical foundations while developing logical thinking, problem-solving skills, exam technique and the ability to work independently. I regularly assess understanding and adapt my teaching to address specific areas of difficulty or provide greater challenge where appropriate.
With over 25 years of teaching and tutoring experience, I bring extensive expertise in mathematics education and exam preparation. My approach is patient, supportive and results-driven, helping students make measurable progress and develop the confidence to tackle challenging mathematical problems independently.
