About Jay
I am a highly driven and ambitious medical doctor with the passion to help students aspire to reach for academic excellence. I am a true believer that success is 99% down to pure hard work with the appropriate tutor to guide you along the way. The input and expertise I can provide can make all the difference to secure that extra mark needed to secure that coveted university offer!
I am a medical doctor with 2 years experience in clinical practice and approximately 3 years of experience as a tutor under the company Tutor Doctor. I have tutored several students in the past particularly those seeking entry into Medicine at Russell Group universities, providing careers advice and helping them with university interview skills. In terms of qualifications, I hold an MBBS medical degree in addition to a upper first in Public Health from Barts and the London School of Medicine. My A-level grades are AAA (Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics), with 11A*s and 1A for GCSEs. I have won several prizes, including the highest grades in my high school awarded in addition to a senior prefect position in sixth form, with multiple letters of achievement at university.

In terms of my sessions, I like to spend the first 10 minutes of the first session session establishing the students learning needs and methods so I can tailor the teaching to the needs of the individual student. I then spend the bulk of my time teaching the student in an enthusiastic and passionate way, ensuring it is both relevant and interactive for the student. At the close of the session, i like to end with a quick quiz to cover any learning points, highlighting learning objectives for our next session. I work tirelessly to ensure that students get the most out of tutoring and am happy to be contacted between sessions where necessary.
