About Hilde

Hello! I'm a bilingual native Chinese speaker with a passion for helping students build confidence in Mandarin through practical, engaging lessons. I believe everyone learns differently, so I tailor each lesson to your goals, learning style, and pace.

Whether you're a complete beginner, preparing for exams, improving conversational fluency, or learning Chinese for work or travel, I'll create a supportive and enjoyable learning environment where you can make steady progress. My aim is not only to teach the language but also to help you understand Chinese culture and communicate naturally in real-life situations.

I look forward to helping you achieve your language goals, one lesson at a time!

About the lesson

I believe language is best learned through practical use and consistent exposure. My lessons are interactive, personalized, and designed around each student's goals, whether that's passing exams, improving conversational fluency, learning to read and write Chinese, or developing professional communication skills.

I use a combination of structured learning and real-world practice. Lessons typically include vocabulary building, pronunciation, grammar explained in a simple way, guided reading and writing exercises, and plenty of conversation practice. I also incorporate topics that interest each student—such as business, travel, current affairs, entertainment, or hobbies—to make learning more engaging and memorable.

Lessons are 60 minutes long, providing enough time to introduce new material, practice speaking, and review previous content while maintaining a comfortable pace.

As a bilingual native Chinese speaker, I can explain concepts clearly in English while helping students build confidence using Chinese naturally. My teaching focuses on creating a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes as part of the learning process.

My lessons are suitable for beginners through advanced learners, including children, teenagers, university students, and working professionals. Whether you're learning Chinese for school, work, travel, business, or personal interest, I tailor every lesson to your level, pace, and objectives.
