About Lina
I am a supportive and approachable tutor who genuinely enjoys helping students feel more confident in their academic work. I recently submitted my PhD in the Department of Political Economy at King’s College London, where my research focused on applied microeconomics, quantitative methods, and policy analysis. Completing a PhD has strengthened my ability to explain complex ideas clearly and guide students through challenging material with patience and structure.
Alongside my doctoral research, I have taught academic writing, Python, data analysis, and quantitative methods to social-science students across several universities. I have worked with learners at A-level, undergraduate, and postgraduate level, and I understand how overwhelming essays, dissertations, and research projects can feel. My goal is always to make the process more manageable and to help students develop clarity, structure, and confidence in their writing.

My lessons are designed to make academic writing feel clearer, more manageable, and far less overwhelming. Whether you are working on an essay, thesis, or dissertation, I help you break the process into understandable steps so you can write with confidence and purpose.
I always begin by understanding what you are working on, where you feel stuck, and what your goals are. From there, we work together on building strong arguments, improving structure, and developing a clear academic voice. I explain expectations in a straightforward way and give practical guidance that you can apply immediately to your writing.
A typical lesson lasts 60 to 90 minutes and usually includes:
- A quick review of your current draft or plan
- Discussion of your research question, structure, or argument
- Step-by-step guidance on improving clarity, flow, and academic style
- Examples, templates, or frameworks to support your writing
- Clear takeaways you can use between sessions
I submitted my PhD research at King’s College London, and I have extensive experience supporting students with essays, dissertations, and research projects across the social sciences. I have taught academic writing, quantitative methods, and data analysis at university level, and I understand the challenges students face when trying to express complex ideas clearly.
