« Kate is a valued colleague of mine. She is an excellent clinical physiotherapist with very up to date knowledge and skills. Having worked in private practice, NHS and physiotherapy academia she is well placed to give academic support with contemporary clinical knowledge to both undergrads and post grads. She guided me with masters levels portfolio and essay writing recently which helped me develop my critical appraisal within this work and improve my grammar and writing style. I would reccomend Kate to anyone looking for this type of support or mentorship. Fionna physiotherapist »

Kate 's CV

Check out my student feedback below! I have over 2 years experience as a physiotherapy lecturer at Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh, where I designed and delivered a range of seminars, tutorials, lectures, practical classes and employability activities to undergraduate, pre-registration and post-graduate students.

I completed Practice Educator Training in 2012 and have mentored numerous students on clinical placement over the years. I continue to provide mentorship for students as well as qualified physiotherapy staff through various shadowing opportunities, in-service training and clinical support.

With over 10 years clinical experience, I have comprehensive experience in a wide variety of musculoskeletal disciplines, including specialist spine care clinics, pain management, vestibular physiotherapy, hand therapy, hydrotherapy, orthopaedics, sports injuries, rehabilitation, and much more!

In my spare time, I am involved with the online education platform Trust-Me Education. I am also involved with the Reform.Physio think tank that aims to encourage and support evidence informed physiotherapy practice throughout the UK. I have presented at several public events, updated clinical guidelines for the NHS and remain involved in audit and research.

Student feedback:

“Classes were very well organised, and I can clearly say that lecturer was prepared… Topic presented in very practical way which is great! I am glad we could analyse the clinical case and discuss possibilities. Additional topics discussed very helpful … Thank you for these classes! They open our eyes for very important factors!”

- MSc post-graduate advancing clinical skills module feedback

“Kate was extremely approachable. Easy to understand. Kate has a great ability to explain things in a more simplistic way – making the sessions more beneficial and enjoyable”.

“She also ensures that students know the technique of the test and that they do it correctly by going around and if she sees that it is done incorrectly she will demonstrate again to them “

“Gets you feeling like a physio”

“She is very enthusiastic and her conversational style teaching is great. I really enjoy it and engage in classes more… she doesn’t give away the answers and this makes us things about things more… she is a very good teacher”.

- MSc physiotherapy (pre-registration) MSk module feedback

“Best lecturer yet, provides positive feedback. Helps facilitate learning”.

“Brilliant teaching style. Always very engaged in class. Great depth of knowledge for questions. Teachings are very practical and applicable”.

“Great at explaining topics to the class. Everything has been clear and well demonstrated. Nothing negative to say. Excellent lecturer”.

I worked with Kate for around 18-24 months when she was lecturing at Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh. Kate brought extensive clinical experience to this role, particularly in relation to musculoskeletal Physiotherapy. I co-taught with Kate on subjects relating to health, wellbeing and behaviour change. I found that Kate relates very well to students as she is approachable and encouraging, with extensive knowledge about current Physiotherapy practice.

Kate was absolutely brilliant helping me with my MSc coursework! She gave me guidance and advice and this allowed me to work out the answers for myself. Kate is worth every penny and I'll definitely but getting her help again.
