About Flora
I am an enthusiastic and committed pianist with a Grade 8 Distinction, and a genuine passion for sharing music with others. Having experienced first-hand the confidence, creativity, and joy that learning piano can bring, I am motivated to pass that on to the next generation of young learners.
I particularly enjoy working with children, as I find it incredibly rewarding to see their progress—from their very first notes to playing with confidence and expression. I want to create a positive early experience with music, where students feel encouraged to explore, make mistakes, and grow at their own pace.

One of my key memories of my childhood is my relationship with my piano teacher - I worked with her from aged 6 to 18, and I will never forget the joy and fulfilment I got from our time together. This is now something I strive to emulate.
I am a passionate and dedicated piano teacher with a Grade 8 Distinction, offering engaging lessons tailored especially for younger learners. My approach combines strong musical foundations with creativity and fun, helping children develop confidence, skill, and a genuine love for music from the very beginning.
I believe that every child learns differently, so I design lessons that are structured yet flexible—ensuring all key techniques, theory, and musicianship are thoroughly covered, while still allowing students to explore their own interests and take the lead in their learning. By giving children a sense of ownership over their progress, I help them stay motivated and excited to practise.
Above all, I strive to make piano lessons something students look forward to, not a chore. Through a supportive and encouraging environment, I aim to build not only strong pianists, but also confident, independent learners who enjoy making music.
Usually my lessons are 45 minutes, with dedicated time every two weeks to go through music theory, but of course I am happy to tailor this to what you require. I pride myself on creating a warm, friendly, and welcoming environment where children feel completely at ease, so I'm very well suited to students who perhaps are reluctant to practise, or lack motivation sometimes.
With the right balance of encouragement, structure, and fun, I aim to inspire a lifelong love of music in every child I teach.

Flora worked with my two children over the summer, providing invaluable support with their extracurricular English studies. For my eldest, she focused on poetry analysis in preparation for GCSE exams, while for my youngest, she helped strengthen SPaG (spelling, punctuation, and grammar) skills. Thanks to Flora’s patient yet enthusiastic approach, both children not only excelled in their classes but also developed a genuine enjoyment of the subject. Her ability to inspire confidence and foster a love of learning is truly exceptional, and I would wholeheartedly recommend Flora as a tutor.
Flora was an absolutely brilliant tutor to my daughter. She was so flexible with her sometimes difficult additional needs and really helped her excel in her school work academically and also her confidence in class. I couldn’t recommend her more!!
