About Rachel
I’m about to enter my fifth year of teaching, and I currently work in a primary school in Caerphilly county borough. Prior to that, I worked as a 1:1 learning support assistant and general teaching assistant.
I have taught from nursery to year 6 since gaining my PGCE. I have worked in schools across Caerphilly, Cardiff and Rhondda Cynon Taf. I have had experience of working with pupils with additional learning needs such as global delay, speech and language difficulties, autism and dyslexia.
I am a Welsh speaker and whilst I do not tutor through the medium of Welsh, I am more than happy to support Welsh speaking pupils.

I strive to create a calm learning environment where pupils feel confident to try without the fear of making mistakes. I make my lessons as fun and engaging as possible, using the relevant resources when required. I also give my students an appropriate level of challenge and will always support them, but also encourage inference to help them develop their confidence and fluency.
