About Lucy
My name is Lucy and I am a primary school teacher, working in Glasgow for the past 10 years. My main passions as a teacher are for literacy and numeracy, especially writing and mental maths strategies. I have three children of my own, and am well acquainted with the stress that working families can feel when asked to support their children with school work! I am a keen reader of children and young adult fiction and have an extensive collection of books which I use to engage my pupils, both in and out of the school setting. As a classroom teacher, I have access to a wide range of resources to support all learners, including a strong knowledge of technology-based learning. Learning requires teamwork and I work with the learner and their family in partnership, solving problems and overcoming barriers to learning, whilst building knowledge, skills and confidence.

I am an experienced primary teacher and I have also tutored adults in English at National 5 and Higher level. I am qualified to teach all subjects up to and including S2. I also have 20 years' experience in proof reading a variety of texts.
I am able to offer lessons one-to-one and/or in a small group, in person or online.
I have experience working with children with additional support needs including autism, dyslexia, ADHD and English as an Additional Language.
The length and type of teaching can be tailored to suit the individual student and their particular needs, in accordance with Education Policy. The expected duration of a lesson is 1 hour, and pupils can be of any age.
